Accounting integration boundaries
Accounting integration boundaries define which provider identities and objects are covered, and where source data ends and local BetterBooks accounting begins.
Different products, different contracts
The BetterBooks QuickBooks integration targets QuickBooks Online. QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and Intuit Enterprise Suite are separate offerings; do not infer connector compatibility from the shared vendor name.
Treat import coverage as data
Review coverage per source object family, entity, date scope and connector revision. A supported GL account import does not imply complete AP settlement, revenue schedule or inventory-layer import.
Keep source and local records distinct
Retain source identifiers and provenance. A local correction or analytical adjustment must not be described as a source-system writeback unless that exact operation is explicitly supported and authorized.
Validate before expanding access
Start with a scoped, authorized review environment. Confirm reconciliation and mutation behavior before allowing an integration to create or change accounting records. These guides are not an offer of anonymous API access or a public developer-token signup.
